Duterte is serious about solving commuter problems

You know that president Rodrigo Duterte is serious about solving commuter problems when he compares it to his fight against criminality and illegal drugs.
“I have to declare a crisis in the war against crime and dito sa part of the commuter, trains and all. May crisis ako dyan,” he told reporters during a late night presser in Davao City Saturday (May 28).
“My crisis begins with EDSA…And the other crisis is that there are a lot of drugs and we are fighting them in so many fronts,” added outgoing Davao mayor Duterte, 71.
By mentioning EDSA, “Digong” was referring to the perennial heavy traffic in the metropolis’ main highway.
These traffic jams and the frequent breakdowns of train systems in Metro Manila were major issues during the election campaign, and Duterte had previously voiced out how pitiful the commuters were.
Now, we know that he treats that problem with the same level of urgency as that with crime.
Duterte had earlier vowed to “suppress” criminality within three-to-six months of his term.
He said that the first major project of his administration would be building a railway.
